Paracetamol Induced Acute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis- A Rare Case Report

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare cutaneous adverse drug reaction characterized by rapid occurrence of dozens to thousands pinhead-sized, non-follicular, sterile pustular eruptions. AGEP infrequent with an incidence one five millions per year. There are only two previous reports paracetamol induced in literature. The clinical course characterised spontaneous resolution on withdrawal. Resolution marked characteristic desquamation. Diagnosis depends morphology skin lesions, presence fever, laboratory and histopathological findings. Factors that favours the diagnosis include onset pustules within few hours or days after causative agent administered. most frequent drugs Aminopenicillins, ampicillin, amoxixillin, sulphonamides, pristinamycin, quinolones, hydroxychloroquine, terbinafin diltiazem. In some cases it bacterial, viral parasitic infections. our case, 50 year male patient developed multiple pus filled burning sensations all over body caused administering where, lesions desiccated immediately cessation offending daysleaving exfoliations .Upon white blood cell count was increased indicating lymphocytosis. He administered antihistamines, emollients corticosteroids during his stay hospital. Pustular rashes were reduced recovered treatment. Paracetamol widely used safer worldwide, herein draws special attention no completely safe hence proper medication history interview would be recommended overcome causing reactions, can possibly dangerous life threatening.
